Yellow Cat Uranium PLC holds a lease on five claim groups and three Utah State Mineral Leases comprising four mineral properties situated in southeastern Utah and the immediately adjacent part of southwestern Colorado. All of these properties have potential for uranium mineralisation in formations and at depths that have not been previously tested. The four mineral properties include 295 unpatented mining claims and three Utah State Mineral Leases situated in Grand and San Juan Counties, Utah, and 96 unpatented mining claims situated in Montrose County, Colorado. The four properties, referred to as the Yellow Cat, the Sharp Canyon, the Harts Point, and the Big Flat-Bull Canyon properties, are between 180 and 220 miles southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah, or between 240 and 280 miles southwest of Denver, Colorado. Together, these properties cover an area of approximately 10,460 acres. All of these mineral properties are situated in the fold and fault belt of the Paradox Basin, within the Colorado Plateau region of the southwestern United States. This region is well known for its tabular sandstone-hosted uranium deposits. The
Yellow Cat, Sharp Canyon, Harts Point, and Big Flat-Bull Canyon properties
lie within the east central portion of the Colorado Plateau, in the
fold and fault belt of the Paradox Basin. The Colorado Plateau is well
known for its peneconcordant sandstone-hosted uranium deposits. The
properties are each located on the flanks of an anticline, in areas
that are capped by younger rocks but are regarded as favourable for
exploration drilling to test for uranium mineralisation at depth. The
four mineral properties are considered to have potential for sandstone
uranium mineralisation at depths below surface not heretofore tested.
All of the properties are all located within 60 miles of the south side of the Interstate 70 freeway, with each property within 20 miles of the east side or the west side of U.S. Route 191 as it heads south from the freeway Exit 180 toward the Arizona border. A network of state highways, and paved and gravel secondary roads provide access to all of the properties. The closest community with scheduled airline service is the town of Grand Junction, Colorado, which is on Interstate 70, about 90 miles east of the aforementioned Exit 180. On U.S. Route 191, about 30 miles south of Exit 180, is the town of Moab, Utah, (elevation 4,000 feet; population 4,850) which is the largest community centrally located with respect to the four properties. Moab offers a full variety of support services, lodging, meals, vehicle repair, and a contract drilling company.
